
HARBORCREEK HONORS HOMETOWN HEROES
Program Overview
The purpose of Harborcreek’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program is to honor and recognize local veterans who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for recognition on a Hometown Heroes banner, an individual must have:
*Resided in Harborcreek Township at some point in their life;
*Served in any of the following branches of the military – Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, National Guard, Navy, Merchant Marine, or Space Force; and
*Died in the line of duty, been honorably discharged, or is an active service member.
Program Details
Hometown Heroes banners will be displayed on Buffalo and Nagle Roads. Additional locations will be added if necessary.
All banner locations will be determined solely by Harborcreek Township and the Harborcreek Historical Society.
Banners will be 30″ x 60″, double-sided, full-color, and custom designed with the individual’s photograph (if provided), name, branch of service, and era of service.
Banners will be displayed for three years from Memorial Day to Veterans’ Day. After the third year, the banner will be permanently removed and returned to the nominator.
Nomination Process (Nominations will be accepted beginning November 11, 2026.)
Complete the Hometown Hero form. The form may be completed online or downloaded from www.harborcreekhistory.org
Submit a high-quality photograph of the individual in uniform. (Photographs will not be returned but added to the Harborcreek Historical Society’s archive collection.)
A fee of $100 per banner is required. Payment may be made online or by check. See form for details.
